Overview:

From 2020 to 2023, 02 Projects managed all creative production and social media for Honolulu Ford, delivering over 20 monthly assets—including commercials and photos—crafted by our two-person team during regular trips to O‘ahu. We handled every aspect from concept to delivery, capturing authentic stories that highlighted the island’s people and landscapes. The campaign’s core message, “Explore Hawaii. Love the Locals.,” transformed traditional car ads into narratives that resonated deeply with the community.

The Challenges:

Every few months, we flew across the Pacific with just enough gear to fill a couple of Pelicans—and came back with 20+ deliverables. No producers. No offloading to agencies. Just us. On the ground. Shooting, directing, editing, and delivering the full campaign slate on our own.

There’s a blueprint for dealership ads. We threw it out. The bigger challenge? Making each piece feel real. We weren’t selling a truck—we were capturing the moment someone used that truck to explore a waterfall, drive to a family cookout, or pick up their daughter from school. Every spot had to feel lived-in.

Shooting on O‘ahu meant dancing around rain, sun flares, traffic, and tight location access. Every production day had to be optimized. We scouted, shot, and delivered from sunrise to sundown—constantly adapting to keep momentum high, gear dry, and people stoked.

20 deliverables. Every month. For 36 months. That’s 700+ assets—each needing its own spark. We kept the creative fresh by rooting everything in real people, real locations, and real moments. No templates. No rinse and repeat. Just instinct, camera, and connection.

The Process

Pre-production: Remote planning, casting, scripting, and shotlists.

Production: On-location in O‘ahu. Two-person crew. Full capture.

Post-production: Edited, color graded, delivered—all in-house.
